Introduction
Our curriculum challenges children, encouraging them to develop into motivated learners, curious about the world around them.
Our children are nurtured in a secure environment, whilst being allowed to explore, enquire and take risks both inside and outside the classroom.
Our children make swift progress within a child centered context, and make a smooth transition to Key Stage 1.
Our Early Years (Reception) curriculum is based on seven areas of learning.
There are three prime areas:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Communication and language
There are four specific areas:
- Mathematics
- Literacy
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Discover 'Tapestry'
To keep parents up to date with their child’s learning, every parent is given a login to their child’s online learning Journal called Tapestry. Through this site, teachers will upload observations, which link to the above areas of learning. Once uploaded, parents can view the written comments, photos and videos of the children’s learning. Parents can also upload videos, photos and comments to add to the children’s learning journal.
